Eric Goodman, Ph.D., has spent more than 25 years leading change inside colleges and universities as a chief academic officer, vice president of academic affairs and dean. He founded Higher Ed Change to help campus leaders adopt AI the way change actually happens on campus.
Founder, Higher Ed Change · Centennial, Colorado

Dr. Goodman led Western Governors University’s College of Business, growing it about 63% in two years to more than 22,000 students while raising the graduate share from 17% to 25%.
He took a multi-state college through its transition to a university system, built its first master’s degree, and led its 10-year SACSCOC reaffirmation with no academic findings. He designed the strategic plan behind a new online division that more than tripled enrollment, chaired a multi-campus retention committee that raised retention more than 20%, and redesigned academic scheduling to save about $1.8 million a year.
He has also trained academic leaders across the California Community College system in leadership, communication and emotional intelligence.
He has presented at the Online Learning Consortium, the Higher Learning Commission, the Academy of Management, and the National Conference on Student Recruitment, Marketing & Retention.
Most AI efforts on campus start with tools or policy. Higher Ed Change starts with people: listening to every stakeholder group, setting governance your board and faculty senate can both support, and training every role. Higher Ed OS, the firm’s platform, turns that process into evidence your cabinet can act on and defend.
Higher Ed Change LLC is based in Centennial, Colorado, and works with online-first and adult-serving institutions, private nonprofits, multi-campus systems, community colleges, and regional and state universities. Reach Dr. Goodman at [email protected] or 303-335-5800, or connect on LinkedIn.
In a 60-minute Executive Briefing, you’ll get a clear picture of where your institution stands on AI and a written summary to share with your cabinet.
